Rostering Rules

Time Logic's Built-in Rostering Rules specifically for the Hair and Beauty Industry Award include:

Hours

- Full-time employees, when rostered, need to be rostered to 38 hours on average per week. This can be averaged over 1, 2, 3 or 4 weeks or a longer period by agreement.

- Employees need 2 consecutive days off in a week or 3 consecutive days off in two week period.

- An employee who regularly works on Sunday needs one Sunday off every 4 weeks.

Breaks

- Full-time employees get 2 x 10 minute paid rest periods, one on either side of their meal break.

- Part-time employees who work 4-7 hours get 1 x 10 minute paid rest period.
Award Rule: s32.2(a)

- If a part-time or casual employee has a meal break then the paid rest break will be in the portion of the work period which is greater.

- Part-time or casual employee who work 7+ hours get 2 x 10 minute paid rest break, one before and the other after their meal break.
Award Rule: s32.2(c)

- Employees must have a meal break if working more than 5 hours.

- Meal breaks are rostered to 45-60 minutes or 30 minutes if agreed.
Award Rule: s32.3

- All employees need a 12 hour break between days.
Award Rule: s32.4

Ordinary Hours

- An employee can be rostered up to 9 Ordinary hours on 1 day and up to 10.5 hours once a week, or twice a week if agreed.

- An employee can work Ordinary hours on 6 days in 1 week, provided that they work Ordinary hours for 4 days or less in the following week.
Award Rule: s30.2

- No employee can work Ordinary Hours on 7 days in 1 week.
Award Rule: s30.2

Normal or Absorption Method

Your Pay Cycle

In Time Logic, wage totals are calculated from your chosen Pay Cycle First Day. This means that if your Pay Cycle first day is a Wednesday, Wednesday to Tuesday will be shown in the Weekly View and the weekly wage totals will be calculated from Wednesday to Tuesday.
